Relocating is a major decision—spiritually, financially, and practically. If you feel led to move to Maryland to connect more closely with Restoration Nation Church, here are a few guidelines to help ensure your transition is wise, stable, and successful.
1. Pray and Seek God’s Direction
Before making any major move, take time to pray and seek God’s confirmation. Make sure you are being led by the Holy Spirit and not simply by excitement, emotion, or impulse.
A relocation should be rooted in purpose, peace, and clarity—not pressure.
2. Consider Your Finances Carefully
Maryland—especially areas near Silver Spring, Rockville, Bethesda, and the Washington, D.C. metro region—can have a higher cost of living than many states.
A general financial guideline is to spend no more than 30% of your gross monthly income on rent.
For example:
To comfortably afford a one-bedroom apartment in the Silver Spring area (averaging between $1,700–$2,000+ per month, not including utilities or monthly expenses), an individual should earn approximately:
● $65,000–$75,000 per year, or
● $5,416–$6,250 per month
This helps ensure you have enough margin for transportation, food, utilities, savings, and emergency needs.
Create a budget before moving and make sure you can maintain stability during your transition.
3. Research Your Move Thoroughly
Take time to understand the area you are moving to and gather detailed information before making the transition.
Some things to research include:
● Housing options and neighborhoods
● Transportation (Metro, bus routes, car needs, traffic patterns)
● Average cost of living (groceries, utilities, etc.)
● Job opportunities and commute times
● Safety of the area
● Church service locations, and the more informed you are, the smoother your transition will be.
We Hope These Tips Are Helpful
Relocation is a journey—but with prayer, preparation, and wisdom, you can position yourself for success and stability as you follow God’s leading.
